Message work well" comment since she saw what happened to Rich's (Boileralum) Optima battry on our way to ZCon last year.

Not speaking for her, but if that's the only Optima she's ever seen in the hatch of a Z (or any car really), I don't blame her at all for thinking that they don't work well back there either. He had it in a proper battery box, but honestly if we had it closed as it was designed to be, I don't know. I want to say it was, but I want to say a lot of things right now.

But she either failed to realize, or just didn't know, that the cause of that battery's destruction was never really pinpointed. The replacement battery was fine the rest of the trip, as it was on the ride home. IIRC, he had to replace it again months later after letting the car sit. The last time (or maybe second to last) he had to jump the car to get it started for the trip out to Texas (from letting it sit long periods of time with no charger), his AVC-R or whatever boost controller died, as did the sound from the stereo. So Rich's car either had electrical issues that fixed themselves, or the battery didn't take kindly to getting jumped multiple times. Either way, I don't recall hearing much, if anything else, from Rich about it. I would take it as it was just a fluke. Regardless, he apparently doesn't find it important enough to comment on, so I'm drunkenly speaking for him :0
